Join us for a Slow Food Picnic at the Barnacle Historic State Park, 3485 Main Highway, Coconut Grove, Saturday, May 30 from 11am to 3pm. 

Bring your own Picnic basket with all of your favorite picnic foods and beverages, which could include your choice of wine. Bring a blanket and an umbrella if you like. Bring your children.

Enjoy live music: PALO! a local Afro-Cuban Funk band

Enter the pie making contest with your own local pie.  The rules are simple.  Let us know if you are entering the pie contest, when you sign up for the event,  extra credit for local and original ingredients,name your pie (see the movie “Waitress”), bring the pie to the picnic no later than 11:30 am and refridgerate if necessary. 

Judges will select a first and a second place winner.  The Prize will be announced. A photo of you and  your pie will be placed on our web site.
