EDUCATION
Slow Food offers the cultivation of taste as a natural way to interrupt the fast food feeding frenzy in an era of bloated portions & epidemic overweight.

CHILDREN'S HEALTH
Miami's School Lunch Initiative began with "Plant A Thousand Gardens" in 2004. In 2006, the program officially made the move from garden to table. You can read more if you scroll down the page of "What's Up & Coming." Gifted teachers have developed F-Cat related curriculum materials and integrated the gardens into classroom work. Outside the classroom, it's clear that participating children relate to gardening, cooking and enjoying good food in a more positive way.

ARE YOU A SLOW FOODIE? If you enjoy the activities below, you may already embrace Slow Food values!

- Learning to make a traditional dish from your family's cultural background(s);
- Teaching your children to participate in family meals and food preparation;
- Cultivating culinary herbs, vegetables or fruit trees.
